This witch tutorial takes the focus off of what her face up may or may non look similar, and has fun with just her stockings and shoes. Those curly-toed boots brand an adorable silhouette, and are good symmetry drawing do likewise.
Getting those curves to match takes a bit of time and practice. Most students though get then excited about drawing these funky shoes that they don't even realize they've just figured out how to describe symmetrical curves, which is one of the harder things to do.
Please note that if you would like to try this with younger classes, say offset and 2d grade, I highly recommend that you make a boot template that students tin can trace and flop and trace over again. While you lot may have a few students that can "see" how to draw the boots on their ain, I found that on average, just older students tend to be able to work this out on their own. Not to worry though, they lesson of symmetry is still there, as they volition learn by flipping their template to make a right and left boot.
This projection has been a favorite of mine for years, and works in all kinds of media. May favorite though, as shown to the right, is with crayon and watercolors. I used real watercolor paper and liquid watercolor paint to get the bright colors shown here. The supplies price a fiddling more, just are well worth the investment, if you lot inquire me.

- Black Sharpie Mark. These fine point permanent marker pens make nice black outlines, have a good tip for coloring, and never bleed when they get wet. Use them with expert ventilation and add actress paper underneath to protect your tables.

- Prang Crayons. These are a bit softer than other crayons and then they sometimes look like oil pastels. They besides have a some prissy brown shades that Crayola does not have unless you buy their larger boxes.

- Crayola Crayons. The reliable make that always works well. The 24 pack has some of my favorite golden orange and yellow colors that seem a chip richer and warmer than the ones Prang has.
